TALLAHASSEE, FL.(WTXL)-- Local Tallahassee community members commemorate their right to vote at the polls this year.
In 1956, President Lyndon B Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act in to law. The law protects African American's from racial discriminitory practices while exercising their right to vote.
And Saturday, Marrie Mobley, a Tallahssee resident says that in her 105 years, she still finds a way to participate. She says, you have your privilege to cote or don't vote, but it's nice to vote for your rights. Mobley volunteers at the voting polls every year.
And Mobley is not the only one getting active with Grassroots Democratic Campaign's Voter Registration Training Saturday, ages 105 to 16 did their part to get other's involved in this year's election.
These volunteers taught people how to register properly for this year's election.
Bay Hasen, a 16 year old volunteer says that even though she is not able to vote, she is glad to get out and use her voice.
The Voting Registration, was apart of the Weekend for Action Event series hosted by Hillary for Florida. Events are going on Across the state.
