TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- It's been over a year since Mason Rhinehart-White was stabbed to death in his family's Killearn Lakes home, just 2 days before his 7th birthday. Saturday, Tallahassee residents came together to remember Mason and to celebrate his 8th birthday.
The community celebration was held at Restoration Place Church and featured some of little Mason's favorite things like bounce houses, water slides, face painting and karaoke.
The family says they held the celebration to remember the positive things about Mason and not focus on his death.
"Although Mason is not physically here with us he is still here and we would be celebrating his birthday party just like this if he were here. And we'll never stop celebrating him so this helps us to be around people friends and family and people who just love on us," said Mason's mom Spring Rhinehart.
