TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Local officials now crediting joint cooperation between agencies to helping end a chase on Friday without injury.

Eric Travis was arrested for driving erratically in Tallahassee.

Led police on a chase through parts of Killearn and Maclay before he started going the wrong way on the interstate.

And authorities say it's critical to not only stop the suspect, but make sure everyone on the roadway stays safe:

"What we urge them to do is to stand still, if they can move to the side of the road to do that," said Lt. Grady Jordan, "but a lot of times we just want the officers and the suspect to move safely through that traffic so that they don't cause any other damage or any other loss of life or injuries.

A lot of different factors are considered before chasing a suspect including types of traffic and weather conditions.
