GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Grady County students are gearing up for their "Back to School Blitz" on Saturday.
The annual event showcases a number of different community resources that are available for students like free eye exams and free school supplies for those who show up.
Parent's must accompany their students to the blitz, but anyone, no matter their age is welcome to attend.
"It's for Pre-K and up, all the way to high school and the twelfth grade. We ask that they all come because all the schools will be there," said Nola Daughtry, Family Connections Coordinator of Grady County. "It gives them an opportunity to get information and the parents to meet the principals. It's just an interaction of all the different things that are going on that makes it a fun event."
The "Back to School Blitz" runs from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Cairo High School Gymnasium.
About 1,000 school supply bags have already been made for the students who show up.
