FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Business owners are being targeted by a scam asking for $200 donations to help for Hurricane Michael relief in Franklin County.

Scammers are asking for the money to be paid over the phone, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook, and saying that Oyster Radio is sponsoring the event.

"It is not true," the sheriff's office said. "Do not pay anything over the phone and be very cautious of other scams."

The sheriff asked that people share the post with possible targets of the scam.
