FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)-- A Franklin County man suffered minor injuries after trying to stop a man from stealing a vehicle.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol say it happened Sunday night at East Gulf Beach Drive and Sunset Drive in Eastpoint. They say 62-year-old William Volk was injured when he tried to stop another man, 53-year-old John O'Donnell of Texarkana, Arkansas from stealing a truck. Volk tried to stop O'Donnell by climbing and reaching through the driver side window as O'Donnell kept driving. Eventually, Volk fell off the truck.
Troopers say Volk is expected to recover. O'Donnell is facing a series of charges, including aggravated battery and armed robbery.
