Franklin County juvenile is captured after escape

FRANKLIN CO., FL. (WTXL) - A 15-year-old Apalachicola boy is arrested, after allegedly escaping custody while being transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Tallahassee.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, on Monday, May 19, the teen escaped custody by asking a Franklin County deputy if he could use the restroom at Hudson Park in Crawfordville and when they stopped, he supposedly ran off.

The Wakulla County Sheriffs Office and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office worked together to find the boy. He was finally arrested Tuesday, May 20 at his home and has since been returned to the Wakulla County Jail where he was booked on an escape charge.

He was released back to the custody of the Franklin Sheriff's Office to face charges of burglary, dealing in stolen property and grand theft.
