WAKULLA CO., Fla. (WTXL) -- An Apalachicola man is dead after his semi crashed into trees in Wakulla County.
Florida Highway Patrol says on Monday evening, Raymond Lockley was headed eastbound on Highway 98, near Woodville Highway.
According to troopers, his truck left the road, went past the grass shoulder and collided with several large trees.
The 47-year old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers don't know if Lockley was wearing a seatbelt at the time. Toxicology reports are pending.
Lockley is the son of Franklin County Commissioner Noah Lockley.
FHP, Wakulla County Sheriff's Office, Wakulla County Fire Department, Wakulla County Emergency Medical Services and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission all responded to the deadly crash.
The road was shut down for hours, but has since reopened.
