TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Humane Society will receive four of nearly 150 dogs that animal advocates say could have been killed and eaten in South Korea.
One dog has mange and began treatment before coming to the U.S.
Once the dogs arrive at the Humane Society in Tallahassee, each dog will be quarantined in the office and examined by local veterinarians.
As far as concerns with canine flu, humane society international tests each dog, and Executive Director Lisa Glunt says HSI has never had a dog test positive.
The dogs are also vaccinated against a rabies, distemper, parvo and corona virus before traveling here to this country.
