Four Arrested After Deputies Find Marijuana and Cocaine During Traffic Stop

LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WTXL) - Four people were arrested in Lowndes County after officers discovered marijuana and cocaine in a car during a traffic stop.

According to the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday around 2:30am, deputies pulled over a car on the 2400 block of Madison Highway. During the stop, one of the deputies noticed the smell of burnt marijuana coming from the car.

Deputies said that during the investigation, they discovered that the driver, Phillip Crumpton, had a suspended driver's license and was arrested.

When the other passengers in the car got out, deputies said that Crumpton granted permission for deputies to search the car. In the car, they found numerous small plastic baggies, approximately 6 grams of cocaine that was in different locations inside the car, digital scales, a small quantity of marijuana and a .25 caliber handgun which the serial number had been scratched off of.

According to the sheriff's office, the four people in the car were arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail:

  • Phillip Crumpton, 28
    • Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute
    • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
    • Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number
    • Possession of drug related object
    • Driving with a suspended license
  • Jarvaz Miller, 22
    • Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute
    • Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number
    • Possession of drug related object
    • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
  • Whitlee Seagram, 25
    • Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute
    • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
    • Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number
    • Possession of drug related object
    • Possession of marijuana
