BAINBRIDGE, GA (WTXL) - Four people are under arrest after 18 cars were broken into in one night.
According to Bainbridge Public Safety, officers responded to Precision Auto on East River Road after receiving reports of multiple cars being broken into.
What was initially thought to be five or six cars turned out to be 18 cars in total that were broken into. One of the vehicles had the dashboard removed in an attempt to steal the touch screen radio, investigators said.
Police also said two of the cars were driven, and believe one was used to try and break through the gate around the facility.
“I think they just went on a joyride, from what I understand,” Investigator Chris Jordan said.
After what police called some "good old fashioned police work", officers followed multiple leads and arrested 18-year-old Dontavious Kinder and three other minors.
Kinder and the minors are all charged with 18 counts of entering an automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit theft and three counts of criminal damage to property.
