TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department says 14-year-old Carl D. Versnick has been found safe and sound.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)- A Tallahassee teenager, Carl Versnick Jr., has been missing for more than a week and his family is asking for your help to find him.
The Leon County Sheriff's Office is asking you to keep a look out for him. His family is praying he'll come home soon.
We spoke to his aunt and his grandmother, who's his legal guardian. But she hasn't seen Versnick Jr. since November.
She says the 14-year-old's parents have really been out of the picture and have been in and out of jail.
Versnick Jr. had been staying at a group home on Rehwinkle Drive after he got in trouble with the law.
He had been going to RAA Middle School but last month, his grandmother says the school called for two straight weeks to tell her he wasn't in class.
She said Versnick Jr. had been getting into drugs and wants him to get the help he needs.
"I love him with my whole heart. He's been more my son than his parents' son. I've had him since he was three years old at one point," said Paula Gruber, Grandmother and Legal Guardian of Carl Versnick, Jr. "I just want the best for him. I just want him to have a good life. I've been trying to get that into his head. He was hanging with the wrong kids."
As of right now, there's no update from the Sheriff's office. We've also had trouble getting in touch with the group home where he was staying.
If you've seen Carl or might know where he is, you're being asked to call the Sheriff's office at 850-606-3300.
