TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - An elementary school dedicating one of its rooms in honor of a beloved administrator who died a year ago today.

Dr. Patricia Rouse was an assistant principal at Fort Braden School.

Rouse worked at the school for seven years. Colleagues say she was a "phenomenal leader" and an "inspiration" to the students and families she worked with.

Patricia Griffin, a close friend to Dr. Rouse said, "The links with all of the special messages from the children is so special to us to see how much the school -- how much detail they went into planning this."

The principal said that Dr. Rouse would start every morning with a smile, a positive message and a devotion, encouraging administrators and students wherever she went.

"Her work with students and our families and our staff was one that we should all be envious of, and we should emulate the goodness and hope that she demonstrated to others," said Jimbo Jackson, the principal at the school.
