GEORGIA (wtxl) - A Georgia candidate for Senator is picking up endorsement by a former president of the United States.
Republican David Perdue, has been endorsed by former President George H. W. Bush, over the CEO of a nonprofit he founded.
Today, Bush said (Perdue) "will be an independent voice for Georgia, while working for positive solutions."
Perdue faces democrat, Michelle Nunn. The race has national implications, with democrats seeing Nunn as one of their best chances to prevent GOP from controlling the Senate.
In a statement, Nunn said, she has "enormous respect" for the former president and touted their work together as a "model Washington can learn from."
