JEFFERSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Former Sheriff David Hobbs on Tuesday was remembered by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
"One year ago today, you were called home," the Jefferson County County Sheriff's Facebook page said. "While we no longer see your face or hear your voice, your legacy lives on within our hearts, within our Office and within Jefferson County. You will always be Our Sheriff!"
The 58-year-old lost his battle with cancer on Nov. 27, 2017.
Hobbs was sheriff for eight years. He had been a Florida Highway Patrol trooper for seven years and had served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
