PANAMA CIT, Fla. (AP) - Three former Florida Panhandle prison guards have pleaded guilty to violating an inmate's civil rights.
The U.S. Department of Justice reports that 35-year-old William Finch and 24-year-old Dalton Riley pleaded guilty Thursday, and 48-year-old Robert Miller pleaded guilty earlier this month.
The three men admitted during their pleas to physically assaulting an inmate without justification at the Northwest Florida Reception Center in August 2014. Prosecutors say Finch then falsified reports to say that the inmate had spit on another officer.
Finch and Riley are scheduled to be sentenced in July, while Miller's sentencing is set for June.
