Former FAMU Coach Files Civil Lawsuit

TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - Former Florida A&M University Head Football Coach files wrongful termination law suit against university.

Monday Tim Jansen the attorney for Earl Holmes said, that he will sue FAMU over his firing.

Holmes, the former head football coach of Florida A&M, was fired four days before homecoming. Holmes will file a wrongful termination lawsuit today in Leon Circuit Court, his attorney Tim Jansen confirmed.

The five-count civil lawsuit filed in the Leon County Circuit Court, will include breach of contract, a breaking of a good-faith and fair deal and negligent misrepresentation on the part of the university.

Holmes went 6-16 as the leader of the team, including the final two games in 2012 as the interim head coach following Joe Taylor's retirement. 

Holmes was fired Oct. 28.

FAMU recently hired Alex Wood to be the new permanent head coach of the football team.
