TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The National Center for Missing Adults estimates nearly 2,300 Americans, both children and adults, go missing every day. That includes hundreds each year in North Florida and South Georgia.
In this week's "For Your Protection", Officer David Northway with Tallahassee Police Department appeared on WTXL ABC27 Sunrise to talk about how law enforcement responds to reports of missing people.
Northway explains each case is handled different, depending on the circumstances of the case. However, he says TPD devotes the necessary resources to each case to find a quick resolution. Watch the video to the left to hear more from Northway on how TPD handles missing persons cases and how to know when it's the right time to report someone missing.
Watch "For Your Protection" everything Thursday morning at 5:30 a.m. on WTXL ABC27 Sunrise.
