TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — For the second time in a week, a University of South Florida football player is accused of firing a gun on campus.
University police arrested junior cornerback Lamar Robbins on Thursday afternoon. He remained in the Hillsborough County Jail early Friday with an $8,000 bond.
It's the second time this week thasa USF football player has been accused of firing a gun on the campus near Tampa. Early Sunday, freshman reserve offensive lineman Benjamin Knox was arrested after officers say he fired a gun at a dorm. The USF athletic department suspended Knox from team activities. They have not made an announcement on Robbins' status.
Robbins is charged with discharging a weapon on campus, a second-degree felony, and giving false information to a law enforcement officer.
A lawyer for Robbins isn't listed on jail records.
