VENICE, FL (WWSB) - Officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) are relieved after capturing a massive gator in Venice Sunday.
According to the Sarasota Sheriff's Office, FWC trapped a 13-foot gator from Shamrock Park in Venice, in an effort to relocate the large creature.
Carl Sellitti, Supervisor at Sarasota County Animal Services, Sgt. Tim Bauer and Deputy Rob Lowen assisted with the capture and waited with the animal until a trapper arrived to "take the big guy away."
Supervisor Sellitti, who has been with SCSO for two decades said this may be the largest gator his team has ever responded to, according to the Sheriff's Office.
