TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - More than 2.5 million Floridians are expected to travel over 50 miles this week for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Those numbers reflect a five percent increase from 2015, according to Triple A projections.
Gas prices are up slightly from last year, but an improving overall economy means that this will be the most traveled holiday weekend since before the Great Recession.
Nearly 90 percent of those traveling are expected to drive, and the number of people flying is also expected to increase, though airfares are 20 percent higher than last year.
