MIAMI (AP) - A South Florida woman remains in jail after authorities say she drove off in a running car that had three children inside.
Miami police say 34-year-old Anthony Milhomme left his car running outside a Little Haiti shop Monday afternoon. Inside the car were his son and daughter - 5-year-old Anthony Milhomme and 6-year-old Kaila Milhomme - and his nephew - 6-year-old Isaiah Paul.
Police say 33-year-old Velan Verdier hopped in the car and drove off. The Miami Herald reports that Verdier was pulled over about two hours later with the children still in the car.
Verdier faces multiple charges, including vehicle theft and three counts of kidnapping. She was being held without bail.
The elder Milhomme has been charged with three counts of child neglect. He was released on bail.
