OKALOOSA COUNTY, FL (RNN) - A 7-week-old infant was found dead Sunday night after apparently being left in a van for about eight hours.
A family member found the baby dead in a rear-facing car seat in the vehicle, which was parked at the family member’s home in Mary Esther, Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department said.
The sheriff's department received a 911 call from the family member at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
The family member said they didn't know the baby's mother had left the child in the van after church at around 12:45 p.m.
The sheriff's department is investigating the baby's death, and didn't release the name of the baby or the family member involved.
