JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Jacksonville teen has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a shooting that left a man dead and a child wounded.
A Duval County judge sentenced 19-year-old Tamarius Jerome Bowes on Monday after he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, aggravated battery and carrying a concealed weapon.
The Florida Times-Union (http://goo.gl/lbgZm3 ) reports that Bowes was 17 when he shot 23-year-old Charles J. Jenkins during a fight at Beverly Hills Park that involved about 100 people. Bowes also shot a 9-year-old boy in the leg.
