ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — An Orlando teenager is facing grand theft charges after he crashed into a fence while driving a stolen Lexus.
The Wednesday morning crash sent a metal pole through the right side of the car, impaling his 18-year-old passenger.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17U6zw1 ) reports 18-year-old Mikhail Cannon was arrested and taken to jail. Passenger Smandre Law was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
Orlando police Sgt. Wanda Ford says witnesses told investigators the car was speeding. She says it appears the teen lost control of the car.
It wasn't clear whether Cannon has hired a lawyer.
