TAMPA, FL- Thousands of music fans embarked for the 2018 Vans Warped Tour at Mid/Florida Credit Union Amphitheater in Tampa and Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach over the weekend.

The final band to take the main stage for a crowd of 20,000, for the nationally renowned music festival is Mayday Parade, which created it's roots in Tallahassee.

It may surprise you that the lead singer of Mayday Parade is Derek Sanders who still calls Tallahassee home.

Sanders was born and raised in Tallahassee, and now he and his wife Lauren are raising a family in the Capital City.

Mayday Parade was formed by a bunch of guys living in Tallahassee 12 years ago.

Since then they've signed a deal with Rise Records and joined the Vans Warped Tour, playing on the tour a total of seven times.

The band is releasing their 8th studio album. The newest album includes a song paying homage to the Capital City, titled "Sunnyland" it's named after Tallahassee Hospital and Sanders childhood memories.

Mayday Parade is showing music fans around the country what the Tallahasse music scene has to offer.
