South Florida Police Search for Serial 'Creeper'

Posted

MIAMI (AP) — Authorities in South Florida are searching for a man they believe has terrorized up to 50 women after slipping into their homes and standing over them as they slept.

The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/1K1uGrs ) reports that at first the man fled when spotted. But police say he's become emboldened, and at least one woman was sexually assaulted.

Police have dubbed him "The Creeper." They've used witness accounts and new technology to create a lifelike image through DNA.

Some of the attacks occurred in Coral Gables, others in Miami. Now, Miami Beach police are awaiting DNA results from a possible attack in August.

Police say the man has been quiet for several months but is likely to strike again.

Miami Police Chief Rodolfo Llanes calls the man "a dangerous individual."
