LONGBOAT KEY, Fla. -- The beach can be a hazardous place for a sea turtle trying to lay eggs, and turtle watch groups say beach furniture can be a dangerous obstacle for nesting turtles.

Longboat Key Turtle Watch recently posted photos to its Facebook page demonstrating the dangers. The photos show turtle tracks leading 80 feet to the water with what appear to be sled tracks.

They say a turtle likely got stuck under a beach chair, and had to crawl with the chair on its shell as is re-entered the gulf waters.

The chair was found in the water nearby.

Just last month we reported a similar incident. In that case, someone snapped a photo of the stuck turtle, which was unable to lay her eggs.
