Portion of FAMU Way to be temporarily closed

Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- A portion of FAMU Way will be temporarily closed next week.

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, the City of Tallahassee's Electric Utility will be installing duct banks for electric and gas lines along a portion of FAMU Way. The road will be closed between South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and the entrance to the FAMU Child Development Center. The road will reopen by 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 2.

Duct bank work involves open trenches and heavy equipment. Barricades will clearly route traffic around the construction, which involves detours at South Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, Gamble Street and Railroad Avenue. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are advised to use caution in the area and expect minor delays.
