PALMETTO, Fla. -- At least one Manatee County elementary school will not utilize an armed private security firm on their campus.
That's because police have agreed to provide an officer to Palmetto Elementary School beginning Wednesday.
The Manatee County School District recently decided to place armed security officers in all elementary schools. A $3 million contract was awarded to Sarasota Security Patrol.
