NORTH PORT, Fla. - Police are still looking for the man they say entered a North Port home this weekend and fatally shot a Venice man.
According to police, just after midnight on Friday night, a male suspect forced entry into a home in the 6000 block of Deming Avenue and shot and killed 23-year-old Christopher Hays.
Police say the victim knew the suspect, and that it was not a random incident.
Thursday they announced that they believe the shooter was 27-year-old Joseph Catalioti of Venice.
The case is still under investigation, and further details of the shooting are not available.
