ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Police are hoping the release of new details in the decade-old fatal stabbing of a St. Petersburg woman will prompt someone to come forward with information that could lead to an arrest.
The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/151FQua ) reports the family of Patricia Gertsch Hodges noticed jewelry missing shortly after she was found dead on April 18, 2002. Police believe the killer may have taken a necklace and ring with the phrase "No. 1 Mom" or "No. 1 Grandma."
It's a detail police released in hopes of solving the case.
Police say thanks to improvements in DNA technology, they have a "viable suspect" but they need someone to come forward with information.
Anyone with information is asked to call St. Petersburg police.
