LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - We're just days away from Leon County students heading back to class.
The first day of school is Monday and educators are encouraging all parents to make sure they get their kids immunized before day one.
Students in kindergarten through 12th grade need to have documentation that they've gotten the correct doses for five different vaccinations, including Chicken Pox, Polio, and Hepatitis B.
School leaders say its important to get the shots as soon as possible to keep everyone safe.
Families are able to get an exemption from vaccinations if they chose to sign a statement saying it interferes with their child's religious rights.
