Multiple Deaths Reported After Shooting in Tampa Bay Area

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say multiple people were found dead after shots were reportedly fired in a Tampa Bay-area neighborhood.

Pasco County Sheriff's Office spokesman Eddie Daniels Jr. says deputies found "multiple bodies" inside a New Port Richey mobile home early Monday. The deputies were responding to a call about shots fired in the area.

Sheriff Chris Nocco says "drugs may be involved in this case and it may be a targeted hit."

Daniels says the victims "suffered significant injuries," but a medical examiner still had to determine what caused their deaths. Initial police reports said multiple people were dead after a shooting.

Roads near the mobile home were closed pending the investigation. No arrests have been made.

Nocco said the victims' identities will be released after their families are notified.
