(WTXL) - Mixed messages from the Trump administration on next steps.

As North Korea claims it could have a plan to strike the U.S. territory of Guam for leader Kim Jong Un's approval within days.

President trump is meeting with top national security advisers today as North Korea steps up threats.

State media there says a plan to fire four missiles near the U.S. island territory of Guam home to two U.S. military bases could be ready for review by leader Kim Jong Un, in days.

As of this morning, U.S. defense officials said there were no indications of any imminent launch activity by North Korea.

The president's own party is split on his approach Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin of New York, saying he's not comfortable with it.

On twitter, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, saying the attacks on trump are ridiculous.

Adding, critics act as if North Korea would act different if he used nicer words.
