SARASOTA, Fla. -- Deputies arrested a man Thursday that reportedly stole a bag full of merchandise from a woman while they waited for the bus.
57-year-old Mark Keitel was arrested and charged with Robbery by Sudden Snatching.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, shortly after 11am Thursday, Keitel and the 46-year-old female victim were waiting at a bus stop in front of the Walmart store at University Parkway and Lockwood Ridge Road.
The woman says Keitel grabbed her purse and tried to run away with it, but she held onto it and the two struggled. That's when she says Keitel instead grabbed her shopping bag containing $12 worth of rat traps and fled toward the store.
Arriving deputies located Keitel sitting on a bench in front of the store. He was arrested and the woman's items were recovered.
No injuries were reported.
