TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- The Hope House, a local organization known for working with the less fortunate, is now reaching out for aid, asking the community to help continue its mission.

The Hope House founder Danny Heaberlin told WTXL that the mission is in danger of shutting down. It needs more than $10,000 in order to continue its work into the next year.

The organization is also looking to raise more than $5,000 to be able to provide its holiday assistance for this year. The Hope House provides meals for more than five hundred people in our area at Thanksgiving and also gives toys to more than fifty less fortunate children every Thanksgiving as well.

The Hope House is currently home to three veterans and Heaberlin says he plans to house more of them in the future provided he has sufficient funds.

Residents interested in helping are encouraged to send donations to the Hope House Mission, PO BOX 3007 Tallahassee, Fl 32315. Donations can include money, toys or food.
