TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)- Florida Governor Rick Scott is requesting a meeting with President Obama over flood insurance hikes.

In a letter to the President, Scott calls for a discussion about the unfair premiums placed on Florida families resulting from the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act. Scott says Floridians are suffering and is requesting immediate action.

Congress is currently debating a trillion dollar budget bill with a measure that would delay rate hikes caused by the Biggert Waters Act.     It's still unclear how many homeowners would be affected but Florida senator Bill Nelson says the measure has bipartisan support.
