TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - A Republican legislator wants a probe into whether six legislators are flouting a state law that requires a legislator to live in their district.

Sen. Jack Latvala, R-Palm Harbor, wrote a letter Thursday to Gov. Rick Scott as well as the state's legislative leaders asking for an inquiry.

Latvala, the chairman of the Senate Ethics and Elections Committee, stated he wants a "conclusive finding" into whether the legislators are violating the law.

A spokeswoman for Senate President Don Gaetz said he was reviewing the letter. A spokesman for House Speaker Will Weatherford said the speaker has not yet seen it.

A recent television news report reignited questions about where Sen. Maria Sachs, D-Delray Beach, lives. This past spring Latvala questioned where she lived but Sachs maintained she met residency requirements.
