Florida double-murder suspect captured in NC

  ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (AP) - A Florida man wanted on two counts of first-degree murder has been captured in North Carolina.

 

      Raynaldo Figueroa-Sanabria was apprehended by the North Carolina Highway Patrol about 1 a.m. Saturday while traveling north on Interstate 95 near Rocky Mount.

 

      Figueroa-Sanabria is wanted the deaths of John Joseph Travlos and Germana Morin. The elderly couple were found dead Friday aboard a houseboat in St. Petersburg, Fla.

 

      Officials said the 40-year-old Figueroa-Sanabria was taken into custody after a state trooper recognized his gold 2004 Ford Taurus. He is believed to have been headed to New York.

 

      Figueroa-Sanabria was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for trafficking cocaine. He is being held in the Nash County jail, where Florida detectives are expected to question him pending a request for extradition.
