TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Democratic Party took in slightly less than $1 million during the last three months.
The party filed its latest campaign report on Wednesday. The Republican Party of Florida has not yet turned in its campaign report for the previous quarter.
The Democrats reported receiving nearly $967,000 between the start of April and the end of June. That's slightly less than the party reported receiving during the first three months of the year.
Allison Tant became the party chairman in late January.
Major donors to the Democrats include Florida Blue, the health insurance company and utility companies such as Florida Power & Light. Democrats also received large donations from unions and several well-known law firms in the state.
