TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- An alcohol-related crash has turned fatal for a Tallahassee man, according to Florida troopers.
The single-car collision happened Monday evening on Old Plank Road, just north of Natural Bridge Road, in Leon County. Aaron Ailstock, 62, was reportedly driving northbound on Old Plank Road when he failed to successfully make a curve. His vehicle, a 1999 Toyota Tacoma, left the paved roadway, entered a grass shoulder, and collided with a tree.
The crash caused Ailstock's truck to overturn. He was ejected from the vehicle.
Responding officials took him to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead the next day, Tuesday, June 18. Troopers say he died as a result of injuries received in the crash.
The incident was alcohol related, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, and Ailstock was not wearing his seatbelt.
