KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WFTV) - Kissimmee Police say that a father threw his two-year-old son off of a second floor balcony, and then jumped off himself seconds later.  A witness in the parking lot found the two barely breathing and called 911.

The boy is in critical condition this morning, but expected to recover.  He has some broken bones and bad bruising.  41-year-old Juan Pablo Maradiago has a broken ankle.

A Florida Department of Children and Families Investigator says this is one of the worst crimes she has ever seen.  Now, the agency making sure the boy is well taken care of.  DCF Investigator Carrie Proudfit tells WFTV, "At age two that would be our concern, not only the physical scars but the emotional..."

Police say Maradiago had been drinking when he threw his son over the balcony out of frustration.  It is unclear if he will be charged.  The investigation is ongoing.
