VIERA, Fla. (AP) - The family of a 16-year-old boy who disappeared after going swimming with other residents from a private treatment center says they are not giving up on finding him.

Florida Today reports the U.S. Coast Guard has been unable to find 16-year-old William "Billy" Patient.

The teen's mother says she enrolled her son at The Academy treatment center out of concern he was depressed. His father died suddenly last year.

Rita Patient says she last saw her son just hours before he went missing nearly a week ago. While driving home she received a call from the treatment center saying her son had gone missing after swimming near Juno Beach Pier at Jupiter Inlet.

The mother plans to pass out fliers with her son's picture over the weekend.
