PALM COAST, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a teenager accidentally shot his friend while showing him the AK-47 rifle.
The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon in north Florida.
The Orlando Sentinel reports Shane Huber and Brandon Williamson, both 18, were at Huber's home when the shooting took place.
Williamson told Flagler County Sheriff's deputies he didn't think the rifle was loaded when he pointed it at Huber and pulled the trigger. Huber was shot once in the neck and was conscious when deputies arrived.
Commander Bob Weber said Huber was taken to a Daytona Beach hospital. He didn't know the teen's condition.
Williamson hasn't been arrested.
An investigation continues.
