TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The City of Tallahassee will begin constructing a chicane traffic calming device at the intersection of Oakland Avenue and Gadsden Street. This will permanently alter traffic flow at the intersection. Additionally, the intersection will become an all-way stop. The new traffic pattern will begin with the start of construction.
Westbound traffic flow on Oakland Avenue will not be impacted.
Eastbound traffic will now have to stop at the intersection and will no longer be able to continue straight on Oakland Avenue into the Myers Park neighborhood. The new traffic pattern will require all eastbound traffic to turn left onto Gadsden Street.
Work is anticipated to be complete by March 14. While crews are in the area, please use caution and slow down.
