TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- This Saturday, the City of Tallahassee will partner with residents and churches in the South City community to host the 19th annual Super-Clean Sweep. Tallahassee residents are invited to participate in the cleanup event, joining members of the City Commission, the City's Leadership Team and other City staff in helping to beautify the south side community.
The cleanup event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday. This year the event will cover an area surrounded by East Magnolia Drive, Dozier Drive, Orange Avenue and South Meridian Street. Volunteers will meet at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church, located at 700 Putnam Drive.
At 1 p.m., a community meeting will be held at the church, with City management and neighborhood residents to share updates and information on crime reduction efforts, sidewalks and litter control, stormwater, street lighting Project REACH, code enforcement and opportunities for community gardens.
