COLUMBIA COUNTY, FL. (WTXL) - A Branford man is dead after crashing into a tree early Monday morning.
Troopers with The Florida Highway Patrol say 38-year-old Ronnie Gene Kirby Jr. was driving on State Road 247 in Columbia County. Kirby crashed three miles north of County Road 240 around 4:20 a.m.
Troopers say, he wasn't wearing a seat belt. They say, it's unclear why his pick-up truck drifted off the road and hit an oak tree.
Kirby was pronounced dead on the scene.
