ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Children with autism are getting the opportunity to practice what it's like to fly on an airplane.
JetBlue Airways on Wednesday will give children who have autism and their parents the chance to go through a simulated boarding of a flight at Orlando International Airport.
The goal is to get autistic kids comfortable with the idea of flying before they actually go on a flight.
The children and their parents will practice checking in at the airport, walking through security and boarding an airplane at the gate.
They also will practice being strapped into a seat and interacting with pilots and flight attendants.
