TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The U.S. Transportation Secretary announces a long term transportation bill today that would give $2.8 billion in funding to Florida.
The "Grow America" act is a 6 year, $478 billion bill that invests in modernizing America's infrastructure.
The act would put more resources into Florida's highway and transit systems.
According to data from the Federal Highway Administration, more than 2,000 of Florida's 12,000 bridges are considered structurally deficient or obsolete and 26% of Florida's roads are in poor or mediocre condition.
